Talitha Koum

Mission:
Talitha Koum describes its mission as offering hope to South Waco families in poverty through an intensive care program. The institute provides a Therapeutic Nursery for children ages 6 and under and provides comprehensive support for each child’s family until the child’s high school graduation.
Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers can give their time in a variety of ways, including playing with the children, administrative assistance, working with the swimming pool program, grounds upkeep and tutoring. Visit the Talitha Koum volunteer website for details.
Volunteer Requirements:
Volunteers must register and attend an orientation (held on the third Saturday of each month) at Talitha Koum. $2 is required to cover the cost of a background check.
Training:
Volunteers will attend a two-and-a-half-hour orientation.
Time Commitment:
Talitha Koum has a variety of opportunities for students with varying schedules. Volunteers may choose to spend an hour weekly or biweekly, to be contacted quarterly, or to participate in an ongoing project.
Group Volunteering:
Groups are welcome, but must be scheduled with the Talitha Koum office.
